Dynamos Football Club - fresh from sacking coach Tonderai Ndiraya - has also gone for the scalp of the chairman, Isaiah Mupfurutsa, who has been known to have a soft spot for the fired gaffer.
Just hours after spokesperson Tinashe Farawo advised the DeMbare family and nation at large about the decision not to renew Ndiraya’s contract that expires on December 31, Dynamos announced they were also parting ways with Mupfurutsa.
“Dynamos Football Club would like to reveal that Isaiah Mupfurutsa is leaving his post as chairman with immediate effect.
“Mr Mupfurutsa has served Dynamos with distinction since 2018 when he was appointed as chairman. Therefore, Dynamos Football Club would like to thank Mupfurutsa for his tireless dedication to the team. He will always be welcome to Dynamos Football Club because he is a staunch believer in the team,” said a statement from Farawo.
No reasons were provided, though its strongly believed the non-availability of pleasing results are the main cause. Dynamos finished third in the league championship and failed to shelve a single trophy during the course of the 2022 soccer season.
News doing rounds in the grapevine is to the effect that Kaitano Tembo, recently fired from Sekhukhune FC in SA, may be heading back home to replace Ndiraya while Murape Murape’s presence at Dynamos’ recent match at the National Sports stadium, has thrown his name into the hat for a possible placing in the technical team.
