The Parliament building which is a gift of the Chinese government to the people of Zimbabwe through China-Aid was completed mid-year and is now 100 percent ready for occupancy.
It sits on six-hectare stand in Mount Hampden, about 18km north-west of Harare along Old Mazowe Road.
It was designed by China SIPPR Engineering Group working with local designers. Shanghai Construction Group was lead contractor with some sub-contractors.
The four floor building has a Chamber House containing the 350-seat National Assembly and 100-seat Senate with an 84 seat gallery.
24 interpreters’ rooms serve both.
An adjacent six storey office block provides administrative housing.
