Dexter Nduna a former Zanu PF lawmaker for Chegutu West, has been remanded in custody on charges of illegally collecting vehicle parking fees from motorists. Nduna, who also serves as the chairperson of the ruling party's resource and mobilization committee, appeared at Chegutu Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Represented by Unite Saizi of Saizi Law Chambers, Nduna faces allegations of fraud. Prosecutor Tafadzwa Vhore alleged that the accused person falsely represented to motorists that a company linked to him, Team Chapter, was authorized to collect vehicle parking fees.

Nduna allegedly misled motorists into believing that his company was collecting fees on behalf of Chegutu Municipality. This misrepresentation led to motorists paying parking fees to Team Chapter, believing they were complying with local regulations.

Magistrate Amanda Chamisa, in remanding Nduna in custody, cited the risk of interference with State witnesses as a key factor in her decision. She emphasized the strength of the prosecution's case against the accused person.
