The Zimbabwe 15s rugby team, led by captain Hilton Mudariki, is eagerly anticipating their upcoming international tour of the United Arab Emirates and South Korea. The team is using this opportunity to gain valuable exposure and prepare for future challenges.
Despite the absence of foreign-based players, the Sables have been actively training and playing practice matches against Provincial teams, the High-Performance side, and the Zimbabwe U20 sides at Harare Sports Club. The locally based players have been holding the fort and showcasing their skills.
Mudariki expressed his excitement about the tour, emphasizing the opportunity to experience different countries and conditions. He also praised the high level of competition among national team hopefuls, making the selection process challenging for head coach Pieter Benade.
The team has been analyzing the playing styles of their upcoming opponents, identifying their strengths and weaknesses. The practice matches against the Zim U20 side are crucial for refining their game plan and rectifying any mistakes.
The final squad for the tour is expected to be announced soon, and fans are encouraged to come out and support the team at their upcoming matches.
