Dexter Nduna, the ZANU PF resources mobilizer and former Chegutu West MP, has been granted $100 bail by Chinhoyi High Court judge Justice Bachi-Mzawazi. This comes after Nduna's arrest earlier this month for allegedly collecting parking fees from motorists in Chegutu without authorization.
Nduna had initially been denied bail twice by a Chegutu magistrate, prompting him to appeal to the High Court through his lawyer, Unite Saizi of Saizi Law Chambers. Justice Bachi-Mzawazi overturned the magistrate's decision, citing no compelling reasons to deny Nduna bail .
The State alleges that Nduna misrepresented to Chegutu motorists that his company, Team Chapter, was responsible for collecting vehicle parking fees. This development has raised questions about Nduna's business dealings and potential conflicts of interest.
As the chairperson for resource mobilization and revenue generation in the ZANU PF central committee, Nduna's duties include conducting businesses that benefit the party and creating wealth through mining, agricultural, and business enterprises.
Nduna's case has sparked interest, particularly given his recent claims of graduating with a law degree from the University of Zimbabwe. However, reports suggest that he did not actually graduate due to failing several modules.
