A 37-year-old man, Peter Tungamirai, will be sentenced today for raping his nine-year-old daughter.
The horrific incident occurred on September 23, 2023, when Tungamirai summoned his daughter to his bedroom and forced her to engage in sexual intercourse. Despite his claims of mental illness, the court found him guilty of the heinous crime.
The prosecutor, Zvikomborero Mupasa, detailed how Tungamirai had lured his daughter to his room, stripped her, and proceeded to rape her twice. The young girl was traumatized by the ordeal and confided in her mother, who reported the abuse to authorities.
