Slovenia Pledges to Honour ICC Warrants for Israeli and Hamas Leaders

Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob has confirmed that the country will honour arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court for Israeli and Hamas leaders, pledging full compliance with the international body’s decision. The announcement was reported by the Slovenian news agency STA on Thursday evening.

The ICC issued arrest warrants on Thursday against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his former defence minister, and Hamas leader Ibrahim Al-Masri, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity during the Gaza conflict.

Slovenia, which formally recognized Palestine as an independent state in June, has taken a firm stance on international law and accountability. The recognition followed a parliamentary vote, making Slovenia one of the latest European Union nations to endorse Palestinian statehood.

The ICC’s actions mark a significant step in addressing alleged war crimes in the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict, with Slovenia signalling its readiness to cooperate fully in implementing the court’s decisions.
