Zimbabwe's insurance giant, Nyaradzo Group, has issued a fraud alert after a scammer began impersonating its chief executive officer, Philip Mataranyika.
According to the notice, the impersonator is using the phone number +27 61 270 4061 to contact members of the public, attempting to scam them.
Nyaradzo Group stated that its CEO and representatives do not conduct transactions via personal phone numbers and will never request personal or financial information in this manner.
The company urged the public to exercise caution when receiving unsolicited calls or messages and advised individuals to verify the authenticity of any communication purporting to be from Nyaradzo Group.
"Please be advised that Nyaradzo Group, including its CEO, does not conduct any transactions via personal phone numbers and will never ask for personal or financial information in this manner," the company stated.
