Citizen’s Coalition for Change administrator, Jameson Timba has revealed that he received daily food provisions from former CCC leader, Nelson Chamisa, during his five-month incarceration together with the other party activists.
The opposition leader who was Wednesday sentenced to two years imprisonment, which were wholly suspended, made the revelations following his release from prison, expressing gratitude to Chamisa for making sure he was fed and well while in detention.
Speaking to members of the media in his first address, Timba noted, “but there was one key person, who played a significant role in ensuring that not a single day would go with us not having a meal in prison,” Timba remarked. “Let me take this opportunity to thank Advocate Nelson Chamisa for the solid support that he gave when we were in prison…”
Chamisa took to his X account to celebrate the release of the activists, reiterating, “FREE AT LAST…Thank you Lord God, The Almighty! Nothing comes easy and without a cost! Life and strength to JZ and all the Avondale citizens legends, heroes, heroines and patriots. Leaders must always be principled, unbreakable and unshakable. Thank you all who supported with the solidarity, prayers and all manner of help or support! Citizens are the victorious forces!”
Timba and the party other activists were convicted and sentenced on account of unlawful gathering with intent to promote public violence.
