In an exclusive interview, Master Pablo Nakappa, the renowned bass guitarist and band member of Transit Crew, took us on a journey through his illustrious music career.

From jamming with Jazz guru Dumi Ngulube to rocking with Afrika Revenge and Vigilance, Nakappa's story is one of passion, dedication, and a love for Reggae.

Born and bred in Mabvuku, Nakappa's musical journey began with friends teaching him guitar. Influenced by Bob Marley, Bunny Wailer, and Peter Tosh, he developed a deep affection for Reggae. Locally, he revered Andy Brown, while jazz legends Earl Klugh and Benson shaped his sound.

Nakappa's tenure with Vigilance (2010-2014) was marked by memorable moments, extensive travel, and valuable lessons. "Winky D's manager, Banda, is the best band manager of our time," he praises. "He knows his duties, and that's what makes Vigilance tick."

When Nakappa joined Transit Crew, Prof Zindi introduced him to the world of Jamaican Reggae. "Transit taught me how to play Reggae the right way," he acknowledges. As band member and bassist, Nakappa brings his wealth of experience to the table.

Transit Crew's youthful energy blends perfectly with Nakappa's old-school flair. "We meet in the middle, producing a unique sound," he explains. With a solo album launch on the horizon, Nakappa clarifies, "This album is Cello Culture's solo project; we're his backing band."

To aspiring musicians, Nakappa offers sage advice: "Plan wisely, know what you want, and be transparent with your team."

Nakappa's favorite track on Cello Culture's upcoming  album, "Ndishande," resonates deeply. "It discourages people from seeking shortcuts to wealth; it's about hard work and integrity."

As Transit Crew looks to the future, Nakappa remains optimistic. "We're in the right direction; shows are now looking for us." With a legacy spanning decades, Master Pablo Nakappa's passion for music continues to inspire generations.

Transit Crew remains true to its Reggae roots. As they prepare for their own project in 2025, fans can expect an authentic, instrument-driven sound – no gimmicks or pre-recorded tracks.

In a world of ever-changing musical landscapes, Master Pablo Nakappa's commitment to his craft shines bright.
