Director tries to bribe away US$190 000 pay arrears with US$300

The director of local mining and exploration company who tried to bribe Zimbabwe Confederation of Trade Unions officials has been arrested.

Police in Harare announced the arrest Kandakatla Surrender for offering US$300 bribe to ZCTU officials.

Allegations against the accused person arise from a matter in which vacation leave days arrears for employees at his company backdated to 2019  had accrued to US190 000.00 sin.

ZCTU officials then approached Kandakatla Surrender who is the director of the company to discuss the matter.

The suspect then reportedly offered the bribe to the officials so that the matter would not be referred to the National Employment Council.
