A man accused of aiding in the fraudulent sale of a nonexistent residential stand has appeared in court.

Clive Mandizha, 52, was arraigned at the Harare Magistrates' Courts facing fraud charges.

The complainant, Semukilisiwe Dube, alleges that in September 2023, she was seeking a residential stand to purchase and responded to an advertisement on the property.co.zw website, posted by Mandizha.

The court heard that Mandizha, in collaboration with Tonderai Katsa—who is still at large—falsely claimed to have residential stands available in Masasa Park.

Dube reportedly visited Mandizha's offices and met Katsa, who was introduced as the stand’s owner. After being shown the stand and finding it satisfactory, Dube paid US$7 000, the full price.

However, when Dube attempted to develop the property, she discovered that it was already developed by someone else.

Despite her inquiries and the accused's promises to resolve the issue, no progress was made, resulting in her loss of US$7 000.

Mandizha awaits further court proceedings, while Katsa remains at large.
