Zimbabwe has officially unveiled its roadmap for the inaugural SADC Live Your Dream Road Tour, set to take place from February 15 to March 15, 2025.
The event celebrates Zimbabwe's leadership as the SADC Chair under President Emmerson Mnangagwa and highlights the country's role in fostering regional integration.
Speaking at the announcement, officials emphasized the tour's alignment with Zimbabwe’s Brand Zimbabwe strategy and the broader goals of the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
The road tour will traverse four countries — Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, and Zimbabwe — showcasing art, culture, tourism, and adventure. A convoy of 17 Land Rovers, symbolizing SADC member states and the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals, will lead the tour, starting from Tanzania and culminating in Zimbabwe.
The Zimbabwean leg of the tour will spotlight key tourism hubs such as Victoria Falls, Hwange, Bulawayo, Masvingo, and Harare. A grand celebration will follow, underscoring the nation’s role as host of the 44th SADC Heads of State and Government Summit in August 2024.
"This initiative unites the region, celebrates Zimbabwe’s diplomatic achievements, and empowers African artists," the organizers stated, urging the media and citizens across the region to actively participate in the event.
The tour aims to promote SADC tourism, regional cooperation, and sustainable development while celebrating the continent’s shared heritage.
