The nation mourns the passing of Tinaye Chigudu, former Manicaland Governor and Resident Minister, who passed away in Harare on Wednesday.
A distinguished freedom fighter, he was a ZIPRA cadre who received military training in North Korea during the liberation struggle. His commitment to the independence of Zimbabwe saw him rise through the ranks.
Beyond his military contributions, Chigudu also served the country in various government capacities, including as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs.
In recognition of his immense contributions, the Second Republic honoured him alongside Colonel (Retired) Joel Samuel Mazhambe and Shadreck Chipanga for being among the pioneers of the liberation struggle.
Funeral arrangements are yet to be announced.
