Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla, a prominent member of the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party, has issued a formal public apology following recent controversial posts on social media platform X, in which she used profanity.

In her statement, Zuma-Sambudla extended an unconditional apology to former President Jacob Zuma, the leadership of the MK Party, and its supporters.

She acknowledged that while she holds strong personal views regarding internal party matters, her decision to express concerns publicly was inappropriate and may have undermined the unity and discipline of the organization.

“I fully recognize that such concerns should have been, and shall be, addressed through proper internal channels, as dictated by the core values and principles of the glorious movement of the people,” she stated. She further admitted that the use of profanity did not reflect the revolutionary discipline, respect, and solidarity that the MK Party stands for.

Zuma-Sambudla reaffirmed her commitment to the values of the organization and assured members that she did not intend to harm the party’s integrity. “To President Jacob Zuma, the entire leadership, members, supporters of the MKP, and the people of South Africa, I wish to assure you that I never intended to harm the integrity of the party or the values it upholds,” she said.

As a member serving in key party structures, Zuma-Sambudla expressed her willingness to cooperate with any internal processes deemed necessary. She concluded her statement by emphasizing her dedication to the ideals of discipline, respect, and unity within the party.

The public apology comes amid growing scrutiny of political discourse within the MK Party, highlighting the tensions and internal debates shaping the organization’s direction. The party leadership has yet to comment on whether disciplinary actions will be taken.

Zuma-Sambudla, the daughter of former President Jacob Zuma, has been a vocal figure within the MK Party, known for her strong political stance and unwavering support for her father’s leadership.
