Emmanuel Makandiwa's audacious million-dollar challenge, daring any prophet or traditional healer to divine the contents of his pockets, has ignited a firestorm of controversy, drawing scorn and derision from fellow spiritual leaders.
The gauntlet thrown down by the prominent preacher has been met with a chorus of disbelief, with many questioning not only his motives but the very source of his proclaimed powers.
The challenge, which rapidly spread across social media, has been branded as everything from a "spiritual trap" to a "ridiculous stunt." Miracle Paul, a fellow prophet, issued a stark warning to his peers, cautioning against engaging with Makandiwa's offer. "Such offers or challenges will be used to steal your grace or block you from foreseeing or prophesying for good," he declared, fueling speculation that Makandiwa's spiritual prowess may be rooted in something other than divine intervention.
Traditional healers, known for their deep-rooted connection to ancestral wisdom, have been equally dismissive. Veteran healer Sekuru Kafera, with decades of experience, laughed off Makandiwa's move, stating, "Since I started this journey of healing people in 1972, I have seen such ridiculous threats as Makandiwa’s." His words echoed a sentiment shared by many in the traditional healing community: that Makandiwa's challenge is a theatrical display, devoid of genuine spiritual substance.
Sekuru Musundagore, another traditional healer, further emphasized the sanctity of spiritual work, arguing that it should not be reduced to a mere competition. "If Makandiwa is targeting someone, he must be direct with them because what he is starting is so big. As for me, I will put $1,000 at the same time, and I will also put something in my pockets to see if he himself is a true prophet," he challenged, turning the tables on Makandiwa and questioning his own prophetic claims. He also added, "both prophets and traditional healers serve the same purpose—helping people in need."
