Richard Chikwe, known to many as Coach Rich, has always had an unwavering passion for fitness, rooted in his upbringing in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.
From the age of six, he was drawn to physical training, setting the foundation for a lifelong commitment to health and wellness. What began as a childhood interest has since blossomed into a career that continues to inspire and transform lives.
In 2014, Coach Rich began his formal fitness journey, guided by Coach Bhekimpilo Kawere at a small backyard gym. This early exposure helped him develop core values such as discipline, resilience, and hard work.
His skills were further refined at Dynamics Health Studio, a commercial gym in Bulawayo’s CBD, where he met Prince Carter, also known as Coach Carter. Coach Carter not only sharpened his fitness abilities but also helped Coach Rich turn his passion into a profession. This mentorship led him to earn his certification in Physical and Fitness Training from Lupane State University.
Beyond personal development, Coach Rich has made a significant impact in the competitive bodybuilding and fitness world. His accomplishments include winning a silver medal in the Men's Fitness Category at the 2022 Bulawayo Classic Bodybuilding and Fitness Competitions.
In 2024, he further cemented his reputation by securing gold in both the Sports Model and Jeans Model categories at the WFF Midlands Competitions in Gweru, as well as a silver in the Bermuda Model category.
That same year, he earned silver in the Jeans Model category at the WFF Grand Prix, showcasing his exceptional talent and dedication to the sport.
Despite these competitive successes, Coach Rich’s mission goes far beyond winning medals. He is deeply committed to empowering individuals to transform their lives through fitness. He believes that fitness is not just about aesthetics, but about feeling strong, confident, and unstoppable.
"Fitness is more than just looking good; it’s about feeling strong, confident, and unstoppable," he asserts. For Coach Rich, training is not just about lifting weights; it’s about cultivating a mindset that empowers individuals both inside and outside the gym.
Coach Rich encourages anyone ready to take control of their fitness journey to join him at Body Garage Fitness. He emphasises the importance of investing in health and well-being now, rather than waiting until it's too late.
“Don’t wait until it’s too late. Invest in yourself now—your health is your wealth,” he urges. His passion, experience, and relentless dedication make him a strong presence in the fitness industry, helping individuals build not just stronger bodies, but stronger minds.
At Body Garage Fitness, the message is clear: come as you are, and together, let’s work towards the best version of you. With Coach Rich leading the way, the road to fitness is not just a dream—it’s a reality waiting to be achieved.
