A 38-year-old man, Tauya Maguwu, has been arrested in connection with a string of unlawful entry and theft cases that occurred in and around Bulawayo between January 2021 and March 12, 2025.

Maguwu is accused of being behind at least seven incidents where household goods worth US$3,500 were stolen. Among the stolen items were a laptop, a Starlet HD decoder, a Q Set decoder, two laptop speakers, and a radio speaker, taken from a residence in Nketa in December 2021.

In another case, Maguwu is linked to a break-in at a house in Sizinda on March 12, 2025, where a Samsung home theatre system, three blankets, and a 50-inch Samsung television were stolen.

Zimbabwe Republic Police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the arrest, stating, "Police have recovered stolen property worth US$1,900 from the suspect. We commend the public for providing crucial information that led to the arrest."

He urged members of the public to continue reporting criminal activities, emphasizing that community cooperation remains vital in curbing crime.
