The director of All Seas Freight, Blessing Chinduru, has been hauled before the Harare Magistrates' Courts on allegations of defrauding a client of US$202,818.

Chinduru, 43, of Sunway City, appeared before magistrate Donald Ndirowei charged with fraud. He was granted US$300 bail and is expected back in court on June 3 for routine remand.

The complainant, Junaid Alana, 35, alleges that in May 2024, he engaged Chinduru to facilitate the importation of groceries worth US$500,000 from South Africa.

Prosecutor Lancelot Mutsokoti told the court that Chinduru misrepresented himself as capable of handling the importation. Alana then handed over the full amount to Chinduru for the transaction.

However, Chinduru failed to deliver the goods and only refunded US$297,182. He then became evasive, allegedly causing Alana a loss of US$202,818.
