Simba Bhora head coach Joel Luphahla remains optimistic ahead of his team’s crucial Matchday 15 clash against Highlanders at Barbourfields Stadium this Sunday — despite concerns over player availability.

The defending champions, currently second on the league table with 26 points, are looking to keep the pressure on the frontrunners. However, Luphahla admitted that the late return of two key players from international duty in Morocco could disrupt preparations.

“Our only worry is about the two players who were on national duty in Morocco; they're set to arrive later today,” Luphahla said ahead of the weekend fixture.

While the tight schedule poses a challenge, the coach is hopeful the returning players will be fit and ready for what is expected to be a tightly contested encounter.

Simba Bhora’s opponents, Highlanders — popularly known as Bosso — are led by coach Kelvin Kaindu and sit ninth on the log with 19 points. Despite the difference in standings, Luphahla is approaching the match with caution.

“Playing at Barbourfields is never easy. It’s a historic ground, and Highlanders always rise to the occasion in front of their fans. We just have to stick to our game plan and manage the pressure,” he said.

Sunday’s match promises fireworks as both sides look to stamp their authority in the second half of the season.
