Mukuwisi Prince, a 32-year-old man from Hatcliffe Extension, appeared before the Harare Magistrate’s Court facing culpable homicide charges after allegedly hitting a cyclist and fleeing the scene.
The incident occurred on July 17, 2025, along Warbury Road. Mukuwisi, who holds a valid Zimbabwean driver’s license, was driving a Mitsubishi Canter truck (registration AGA 8884) when he allegedly struck Innocent Kufandirori, who was cycling in the same direction.
According to the State, Mukuwisi swerved and hit Kufandirori near house number 3478 before driving off.
The victim sustained severe injuries and was taken to Parirenyatwa Hospital, where he died the following day.
Mukuwisi was arrested following a tip-off from an eyewitness. He is expected back in court on August 8, 2025.
