Sales Rep Accused of Stealing US$24k from Sky Pharmaceuticals

A 42-year-old sales and marketing representative has been accused of stealing US$24,260 from his employer, Sky Pharmaceuticals Private Limited, after allegedly collecting money from customers and converting it to his personal use.

Vusani Kame, of Dzivarasekwa Extension, appeared before magistrate Ruth Moyo charged with theft of trust property.

 He was granted US$200 bail and is expected back in court on August 21, 2025.

The complainant, Sky Pharmaceuticals Pvt Ltd, supplies pharmaceutical products to pharmacies. Kame is employed by the company as a sales and marketing representative, with part of his duties including cash collection from clients.

According to prosecutor Takudzwa Jambawu, on July 22, Kame was assigned to collect payments from customers in Chegutu, Kadoma, Kwekwe, Gokwe, Gweru, and Zvishavane.

He allegedly collected US$24,260 from clients in Chegutu, Kadoma, Kwekwe, and Gokwe, but failed to remit the funds to his employer. The company reported the matter to the police, leading to his arrest.

The full amount remains unrecovered.
