Winky D has been confirmed to have attended the historic massive line-up of the 7th annual Jamaican Jamrock Reggae Cruise held between December 7 – 12.
He was spotted with the Jamrock Sound Clash winner who is also an award-winning reggae-dancehall artist Dynamiq from South Sudan.
Winky-D’s manager, Jonathan Banda, said it should not come as a surprise to the public that the dancehall chanter attended the Reggae Cruise.
“I cannot confirm nor deny the reports, but Winky-D has always had a reggae network, he has many friends who are reggae artistes from Jamaica and it was just a normal interaction.
“If it has something to do with the upcoming album then so be it, but their interaction is something they always look forward to,” he said.
The rock Reggae Cruise returned for its annual musical excursion across the Caribbean Sea from Miami, Florida’s cruise port with stops in Montego Bay and Ocho Rios, Jamaica before its return.
Setting sail on Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas, the six-day, five-night cruise had rare special performance from the legendary Shabba Ranks, Damian “Jr Gong” Marley and Stephen “Ragga”.
Dancehall icons like Bounty Killer, T.O.K. Cham and Ding Dong also heated up the crowd, including Johnny Osborne, Morgan Heritage, Cocoa Tea, Sizzla, J Boog and Kabaka Pyramid.
During the cruise, the musicians on board swooned to the sounds of lovers’ rock from singers Maxi Priest, Tarrus Riley, Christopher Ellis, Etana and newcomer Naomi Cowan.
Winky-D has collaborated with some of the biggest reggae artistes from Jamaica who include Beenie Man and scooped an award at the International Reggae and Music Award ceremony held in Jamaica in 2021 as the Best African Dancehall Entertainer.
