Daring friends test colleague for HIV, syphilis before sodomising him

Zim Now Writer

Three Mutare men are in the courts facing charges of sodomy after they sexually abused their friend. They are alleged to have tested their victim for HIV and STIs before committing the crime, prosecutor Perseverence Musukuto told the Mutare Magistrates Courts.

The accused, from Dangamvura, are alleged to have given the victim bananas laced with a drug that causes drowsiness after which they took turns to sodomise him in his sleep.

Paddington Mutongoreva, 27, Kumbirai Amimo, 33 and Irvine Mukwati, 26, were arraigned before magistrate, Mr Richard Ramaboea, who granted them ZWL80 000 bail each with conditions they reside at their given addresses and do not interfere with witnesses. They will return to court on December 28.

Facts of the matter are that on an unnamed date, the trio invited their friend (name withheld) to Mutongoreva’s residence in Dangamvura Area 14 and they offered him bananas. After eating them, he passed out, only waking up at midnight feeling weary. His host, Mutongoreva, had his hand on his waist while the two other friends were seated on the bed, listening to music.

The complainant also woke up with a sharp pain on his back and the back of his trousers was wet. He confronted his colleagues who denied the sodomy accusations and he went on to report the matter at Dangamvura Police Station. The police, upon attending the scene, found HIV and syphilis test kits.
