The Zimbabwe Republic Police has officially distanced itself from a purported Annual Crime Prevention Summit 2025, reportedly organised by Ataraxia and scheduled for 10 September 2025 at Cresta Lodge in Harare.

In a press statement released on 5 September, the ZRP made it clear that it has no affiliation with the event, either as organisers or participants.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police is not part of the organisers or participants. Therefore, any individual or company approached by the organisers for partnership, funding, or sponsorship in any form will be doing so at their own volition,” the statement read.

The police further stressed that the Commissioner-General of Police and the entire police service have no connection to the event.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police warns individuals or institutions against misleading the public by claiming association with the Zimbabwe Republic Police for financial gain or mileage,” added the statement.
