The FBI confirmed his capture just 33 hours after the killing.
Utah Governor Spencer Cox, announcing the arrest, thanked Robinson’s family “for doing the right thing.”
Officials said Robinson had attempted to conceal a high-powered rifle, a vintage Mauser .30-06 bolt-action, by wrapping it in a towel and hiding it in a bush along his escape route. Investigators also recovered engraved bullet casings at the scene with cryptic and politically charged messages, though their meaning remains unclear.
Authorities believe Robinson carefully planned the attack, noting surveillance footage showed him changing clothes before and after the shooting.
