
The Zimbabwean government, through the Ministry of Industry and Commerce's Competition and Tariff Commission, is developing a National Trade Tariffs Policy aimed at creating a competitive and productive industrial sector.
According to Permanent Secretary Dr. Thomas Wushe, the policy is part of the Zimbabwe Industrial Growth Strategy 2024-2025 resolutions.

"The development of the Trade Tariff Policy is key for enhancing transparency that attracts the much-needed investor confidence and security," Dr. Wushe said.
The government aims to strike a balance between supporting industries and protecting consumer welfare. "Government will strike a right balance between Industry support and consumer welfare," Dr. Wushe added.
The development of the tariff policy, seeks to create a competitive and productive sector that can thrive in both domestic and international markets, such as AfCFTA, SADC, and COMESA.
