Following surveillance, detectives arrested Tadiwanashe, a saleslady at a vegetable market stall, after finding a ball of shrink-wrapped dagga in her black satchel.
Tadiwanashe later implicated Nandi, alleging that she had sent her to deliver the contraband. This led to Nandi’s arrest at her Warren Park 1 residence.
The recovered dagga weighed 2.2 kilograms and had an estimated street value of US$210.
The court initially imposed a four-year jail term, but one year was suspended for five years on condition of good behavior, leaving both women to serve an effective three-year sentence.
