On October 25, 2025, members of the 22nd Chinese (Hunan) Medical Team for Zimbabwe took part in the annual charity bazaar organized by the Diplomatic Spouses Association, upon the invitation of the Chinese Embassy in Zimbabwe. The medical team joined representatives from various embassies in Zimbabwe who set up diverse and vibrant booths. These displayed a wide array of items, including local specialties, cultural handicrafts, paintings, cuisine, and daily necessities.

The Chinese booth was adorned with traditional decorations such as Chinese knots, creating a festive and culturally rich atmosphere. The medical team showcased a selection of health-related products aimed at benefiting the local community.

These included everyday health items like mosquito repellent cream, essential balm, and band-aids, as well as traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) supplies such as home-use cupping sets and moxibustion sticks.

Team members enthusiastically explained the use of each product and took the opportunity to share knowledge about TCM and health preservation. Their efforts drew significant interest, with many local visitors stopping to inquire and experience the products firsthand.

Teachers from the Confucius Institute also joined in the activities, working alongside the medical team to promote Chinese culture and strengthen friendly exchanges between China and Zimbabwe.

Despite temperatures exceeding 30 degrees Celsius, the medical team remained at their posts throughout the day. The Chinese Embassy provided lunch for the volunteers, and though the heat was intense, the team continued to assist cheerfully until the bazaar concluded at 5 p.m.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to charitable foundations supporting vulnerable groups in Zimbabwe, including orphans.

More than just a charity event, the bazaar served as a meaningful platform to enhance mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of China and Zimbabwe. Members of the Chinese medical team expressed honor and fulfillment in being able to contribute to the local community in such a constructive manner.
