
Three men from Karoi have each been sentenced to seven years in prison following their conviction for attempted robbery and vehicle theft.
Danny Jakarasi ,21, Silent Maririmba ,26, and Wellicious Kwaramba ,26, were found guilty by the Karoi Magistrates’ Court for a series of violent incidents that occurred in March 2025.
The court heard that on March 11, the trio, together with two unidentified accomplices still at large, stormed a businessman’s home in Peter Grout, Karoi, armed with a CZ pistol.

During the attack, they fired two shots and hurled bricks through a window in an attempt to gain entry and rob the complainant. However, they fled empty-handed after a private security reaction team responded to the disturbance.
Police investigators later recovered two spent cartridges, a live 7.65mm round, and the CZ pistol believed to have been used during the attack.
The following day, the same group broke into two vehicles parked in Chikangwe, Karoi, stealing a gold wristwatch and a pair of shoes.
CCTV footage captured their actions, leading to their identification and subsequent arrest.
The trio will each serve an effective seven-year jail term. Police are still pursuing the remaining suspects.
