Children living with disabilities at St Giles Rehabilitation Centre in Harare can now move with greater ease and comfort after the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe donated 15 specialised wheelchairs and accessories worth US$10 000.
The donation, designed specifically for children with cerebral palsy, comes as a major relief for families struggling to access mobility aids due to high costs. The equipment is intended to enhance posture, independence, and confidence among the young beneficiaries.
POTRAZ Director General Dr Gift Machengete said the gesture forms part of the authority’s commitment to uplifting vulnerable groups through inclusive development programmes that extend beyond the telecommunications sector.

For St Giles Rehabilitation Centre, the donation represents more than just new equipment — it brings renewed hope for children undergoing therapy and rehabilitation.
St Giles officials said the support reinforces their mission to ensure every child, regardless of disability, has a fair chance to thrive.
