Potraz Board Chair Tawanda Zvobgo Dies at 37

Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe board chairman, Advocate Tawanda Zvobgo, has passed away at the age of 37.

Zvobgo died this morning at a private hospital in Harare, authorities confirmed.

Information Communication Technology Minister Tatenda Mavetera described the news as a shock to both the ministry and the ICT sector.

“Zvobgo was a dedicated leader, a brilliant legal mind, and a steadfast champion for the advancement of Zimbabwe’s ICT sector,” Mavetera said. 

“He was committed to our shared mission of digital transformation, and his wisdom and counsel were invaluable.”

The minister extended condolences to the Zvobgo family, the Potraz board, management, and staff, noting that the sector had lost a pillar.
