
A Chipadze man has been sentenced to an effective 10 months in prison by the Bindura Magistrates’ Court after being convicted of physically abusing his partner during a domestic dispute.
The court heard that on October 30, 2025, the man confronted his partner at their home during a heated argument. In a violent outburst, he grabbed her by the collar and struck her twice with an electric cable.

The victim managed to escape and later filed a report with the police.
Although she did not sustain visible physical injuries, the court emphasised the emotional and psychological impact of the assault, underscoring the seriousness of domestic violence.
The offender was sentenced to 12 months in prison, with two months suspended for five years on condition of good behaviour, resulting in an effective 10-month jail term.
