Geo Pomona Waste Management Private Limited Chief Executive Officer and Executive Chairman, Dr Dilesh Nguwaya, has been awarded the Outstanding Entrepreneur CEO (Super Platinum Winner) at the Zimbabwe’s Top CEO of the Year Awards hosted by the Zimbabwe CEO’s Network.
The annual awards recognise business leaders who demonstrate strong vision, strategic leadership and measurable organisational impact. Dr Nguwaya was honoured for his role in shaping Zimbabwe’s waste management landscape through ongoing reforms and innovation at Geo Pomona.
The recognition follows another major accolade he received last month—the C-Suite Leadership Excellence Award (CEO of the Year Category) presented by the Institute of Corporate Directors Zimbabwe. The award acknowledged his strategic contribution to the waste management and energy sectors, particularly through Geo Pomona’s flagship waste-to-energy project.

The project, highlighted during the ICDZ ceremony, has been described as one of Southern Africa’s most efficient waste management and power generation models.
The redevelopment includes the installation of advanced security systems, a new weighbridge and the construction of a hazardous waste landfill. These improvements are part of a broader public–private partnership designed to enhance environmental sustainability and modernise Harare’s waste management infrastructure.
Geo Pomona has also expanded its community-focused initiatives, including the construction of recreational facilities such as a FIFA-certified football pitch, tennis courts and basketball courts.
