Ian Masanhu, 40, faces a robbery charge as defined in Section 126 of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act Chapter 9:23.
The court was told that on November 18, 2022, at Gazebo Shops, Masanhu and other two accused sprayed Godfrey Nyaruwiro who lives in Phase 2 Eastview in the eyes, dragged and kicked him.
They were doing this in order to take his shoes and phone.
The value of property that was lost was ZWL13, 800 and only ZWL7 000 was recovered. This included the phone which was later sold to one Brian Sign who had bought it from Masanhu.
