A 43-year-old Harare man, Yen Tawanda Dhliwayo, is facing fraud allegations after he allegedly swindled a client of US$13 666 in a botched motor vehicle import deal.
The complainant in the matter is Bei Mandishona Komborayi.
According to the State, sometime in May 2025, Komborayi was looking for assistance in importing a Nissan Caravan NV350 from Japan. He was referred to Dhliwayo, who allegedly misrepresented himself as a registered agent of Be Forward, a well-known Japanese vehicle export company.

Dhliwayo reportedly assured the complainant that he could handle the entire import process, including duty and transportation from Tanzania to Zimbabwe, for a total fee of US$13 666. Trusting these assurances, Komborayi paid the full amount.
He is said to have promised delivery of the vehicle by August 2025, but he failed to honour the agreement. Repeated follow-ups proved unsuccessful, as Dhliwayo allegedly became evasive, offering various excuses before eventually cutting off communication.
Realising he had been defrauded, Komborayi filed a police report. The complainant was prejudiced of US$13 666, and no recovery has been made.
