The Meteorological Services Department has announced that the country will no longer experience heavy rains.
In a statement, MSD said although the country is still in the main rain season, most of the heavy rains fell over Mozambique.
“The cloud band which was responsible for the considerable rainfall over the weekend has since weakened and moved eastward into Mozambique and beyond.
“Practice water harvesting from all sources possible. Irrigate where plant stress is noted,” MSD said.
The department has, however, urged farmers and the general public to watch out for moderate rains with localised downpours.
The MSD last week warned of heavy rains and flash floods in most parts of the country over the weekend.
Last week Thursday, an 80-year-old man was swept away while crossing a flooded river in Gwanda District while the headmistress of Bare Secondary School in Mazowe District died after a tree fell on her vehicle while she was in the car.
