Villagers in the Chatikobo area of Masvingo Province will benefit from an ambulance that President Emmerson Mnangagwa donated to Shonganiso Clinic, a part of Shonganiso Mission, following a request from Professor Rungano Zvobgo during his installation as Bishop of the African Reformed Church recently.

Shonganiso Mission lies on the banks of Mutirikwi River in Masvingo South Constituency.

The African Reformed Church was founded by Professor Zvobgo’s late father Bishop Jonas Mudadirwa Zvobgo during the colonial era.

Prof Zvobgo, who is Great Zimbabwe University Vice Chancellor, was anointed to succeed his father in leading the church.

Receiving the ambulance at State House, Prof Zvobgo said he was excited by this sign of connectivity and connections with the generality of the people, adding: “This government takes churches very seriously, particularly African churches, as you know prior to independence African churches were looked down by the whites with suspicion but now we are exalted.”
