Stanbic Bank Donates US$10k to Support Sustainability and a Greener Future

Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe has reaffirmed its commitment to environmental sustainability by donating US$10,000 to support the recently concluded 16th edition of the 2025 Friends of the Environment 500 Million Tree Walkathon, which took participants from Harare to Murombedzi.

The contribution aligns with the Standard Bank Group’s Corporate Social Investment strategy, which focuses on delivering long-term, impactful solutions within the communities it serves.

Tariro Memo, Stanbic Bank Head of Brand and Marketing, said the institution was proud to partner with Friends of the Environment in championing sustainability through tree planting and environmental protection initiatives.

“Stanbic Bank’s participation in the Walkathon embodies our commitment to sustainability and a greener future. For us, it was not just about walking — we took greater satisfaction in planting trees and inspiring communities along the 110 km journey. At Stanbic Bank, we have carefully structured our CSI initiatives around the key pillars of Health and Sanitation, Education, Environment, and Sport and Arts.

It aims to promote tree planting nationwide through three main objectives: creating awareness about tree planting, establishing nurseries, and planting trees across the country.
