SEED-CO Appoints New Non-Executive Director as Board Member Retires

 

 

SEED-CO, a Zimbabwe Stock Exchange-listed seed company, has announced changes to its board of directors, including the appointment of a new non-executive director and the retirement of an existing board member.

The company has appointed Rogério Alvares de Andrade as a Non-Executive Director following his nomination by the Limagrain Group. 

He replaces Frederic Savin and will take up the position with effect from 22 November 2025, subject to ratification at the company’s next Annual General Meeting.

De Andrade is an agribusiness executive with extensive experience in agricultural research and development across multiple global markets. His career spans South America and Asia, where he has worked on the development and commercialisation of high-yielding crop cultivars and genetically modified traits across the agricultural value chain.

Since 2019, he has served as Head of Research for Limagrain Field Seeds Asia Pacific, where he oversees research strategy for crops including corn, rice, barley and pearl millet in markets such as China, India and Thailand. He also sits on the boards of several joint ventures, providing strategic oversight that integrates research, business development and commercial execution.

De Andrade holds an INSEAD Leadership Certificate, an Executive MBA from the Dom Cabral Foundation, a Master of Science in Genetics and Plant Breeding, and a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy, both from Viçosa University.

In a related development, Frederic Savin retired from the SEED-CO board on 5 September 2025.

 The company said the board acknowledged his contribution to SEED-CO’s growth and operations across Africa and wished him well in his future endeavours.
