
Zimbabwe Republic Police have confirmed the arrest of a suspect linked to a murder, attempted murder and rape case in Guruve, following an intensive manhunt that drew national attention.
In a press statement, police said the suspect, identified as Anymore Zvitsva, was apprehended in Guruvé on Friday afternoon after a joint operation involving the police and the Zimbabwe National Army.
The arrest brings to an end days of speculation and public concern over the suspect’s whereabouts.

According to the statement, the suspect was shot in the left leg while attempting to evade arrest after hiding in a garden. Police said the use of force occurred during the arrest operation, after which the suspect was taken for medical attention at a local hospital, where he remains under guard.
