
Blessing Muzarabani became the third Zimbabwean to be signed by Kolkata Knight Riders in History. The fast bowler follows in the footsteps of Tatenda Taibu, the first Zimbabwean player signed by KKR in 2008, and former bowling coach Heath Streak, who served the team from 2018 to 2019.
The franchise officially confirmed the transfer, welcoming him with the statement, “Welcome Blessing Muzarabani, a new Blessing in Purple & Gold.”
Muzarabani was one of the standout bowlers for the Zimbabwe Cricket team during the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Over six matches, he took 13 wickets at an impressive average of 14.46 and an economy rate of 7.88, making him one of the joint third highest wicket-takers in the tournament.

A highlight of his tournament came against Australia, where Muzarabani delivered a match-defining spell of 4 for 17, securing a historic victory for his team. His consistent pace, bounce, and accuracy made him one of the most dangerous fast bowlers in the tournament.
For his outstanding efforts, he was also selected in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 Team of the Tournament, cementing his reputation as Zimbabwe’s leading bowler and one of the top performers of the World Cup.
