
A 37-year-old security guard employed by Fawcett Security has been arrested for allegedly stealing maize seed from premises in Stapleford, Mt Hampden.
David Muringani (37) is facing theft charges, while his alleged accomplice, Joseph Bernard, remains at large.

The court heard that on March 13, 2026, Muringani allegedly unlocked the main gate and opened a warehouse, granting unauthorised access to the premises.
He is accused of stealing 19 x 50kg bags of SC 555 maize seed and 21 x 25kg bags of 727 Seedco maize seed, with the total value yet to be disclosed.
Muringani was remanded in custody pending further proceedings.
