Shabanie Mine FC has taken an unconventional approach to keep its players motivated in their pursuit of the Central Region Soccer League Championship, with the club opting to distribute gate takings directly to the squad.
This was confirmed by club president Phelandaba Mpofu, who addressed fellow officials and stressed the importance of supporting the players despite the club’s ongoing financial challenges. Mpofu revealed that the players are not on a formal payroll and should benefit from matchday revenue, particularly during home fixtures.
“Give them that remaining $400, they aren’t on payroll. Keep them motivated,” said Mpofu.
