A Kuwadzana woman has found herself in trouble after she was found with the gun of her lover at her house.
Rutendo Hwata, 31, of Kuwadzana 6, appeared at the Harare Magistrates' Court together with her partner Elton Takaruza, 39, of Unit F. Seke, Chitungwiza for contravening Section 4(1) of the Firearms Act Chapter 10:09, "Possessing a firearm without a Firearm Certificate."
The state, represented by Essel Zinhiva, alleges that on January 23, 2023 at a house in Kuwadzana, Harare, Takaruza was arrested by the detectives.
Takaruza then led the detectives to another house in Kuwadzana where Hwata who is his partner lives.
The detectives searched the house and found .38 Rossi Revolver with serial number AA241747 with four spent cartridges that were hidden under the bed.
The two failed to provide a license for the gun.
Magistrate Dennis Mangosi granted Hwata bail of ZWL$ 20 000.
Takuruza was remanded to 13 February in custody pending a ballistic report of the gun.
