Msendeki Calls for Patience as Sabi Gold Mine FC Struggles Continue

Sabi Gold Mine FC head coach Kumbulani Msendeki has urged supporters to remain patient and continue backing the team following the miners’ fifth consecutive defeat in the Central Region Soccer League.

The Golden Boys suffered a narrow 1-0 loss to Good Morning FC in Kwekwe yesterday, a result that extended their difficult run and deepened pressure on the squad.

Speaking after the match, Msendeki acknowledged the team’s poor form but attributed the struggles largely to injuries that have disrupted consistency within the squad.

“May they be patient as we sort out things with my players, as injuries have disturbed the team’s progress,” said Msendeki.

The defeat leaves Sabi Gold Mine FC in 11th position on the league table with six points from seven matches, while log leaders Chapungu have opened a 10-point gap at the top with 16 points.

Despite growing frustration among supporters, Msendeki warned that continued criticism could worsen the situation for players already battling low confidence.

One loyal supporter echoed the coach’s appeal, saying the team requires encouragement rather than pressure during a challenging phase.

“If we continue criticising the coach and his team, we will add more burden and stress which could worsen the situation,” said the supporter.

Msendeki admitted he has not been satisfied with recent performances but said adjustments are being made to stabilise the team.

“We urge supporters to be patient with us as we are about to overcome the problems which have affected the squad,” he said.

Injuries have forced several players into unfamiliar roles, affecting balance across the pitch and contributing to defensive lapses and reduced attacking creativity.

Reflecting on the defeat to Good Morning FC, the coach felt his side created enough opportunities to secure victory.

“They played well, only we had many chances which we could not use, and we would have won that game,” he said.

Despite the five-match losing streak, Msendeki remains confident the season can still be salvaged.

“We have played only seven matches and with the points we have so far, we can bounce back only if we get back on track as early as possible,” he added.

The miners now face mounting pressure to turn performances into results as they look to regain momentum and climb up the Central Region Soccer League standings.
