Socialite Patricia "Jack" Jeke Granted US$100 Bail

The Harare Magistrates' Court has granted socialite Patricia Jeke, popularly known as "Jack", US$100 bail after she appeared in court facing two counts of cyber bullying.

Jeke is accused of using Facebook, TikTok and WhatsApp to post allegedly defamatory and threatening statements targeting businesswoman Felistas Murata, popularly known as Mai Titi, and another woman, Ziwange Shingirayi Wishes.

She is represented by lawyer Tawanda Machinga, while the complainants are represented by Devoted Nyagano, who is holding a watching brief.

Prosecutor Tinashe Maposa is leading evidence for the State.

According to the State, the first complainant is Murata.

Prosecutor Maposa told the court that sometime in 2025, Jeke allegedly posted videos and messages on Facebook and TikTok in which she described Murata as a prostitute and a thief.

The State further alleges that Jeke claimed to have been the former girlfriend of Murata's husband and made derogatory remarks directed at the complainant.

The court heard that Jeke allegedly visited Murata's residence and left soiled clothes and used tissues beneath a bed. When confronted about the incident, she allegedly went live on Facebook, where she labelled Murata a witch and a thief.

The State also alleges that Jeke made offensive remarks about Murata's daughters, claiming that one was a lesbian and the other was involved in prostitution.

In the second count, the complainant is Ziwange Shingirayi Wishes.

The State alleges that on February 9, 2026, Jeke sent a WhatsApp message accusing Ziwange of posting comments about her on Facebook.

After Ziwange denied any involvement, Jeke allegedly responded with threatening messages.

According to the prosecution, Jeke subsequently published a series of social media posts accusing Ziwange of engaging in extramarital affairs.

She allegedly further claimed that Ziwange was transgender, that her husband was gay and that she had used witchcraft to cause the death of her husband's child.

The court also heard allegations that Jeke posted messages claiming that Ziwange was HIV-positive and receiving antiretroviral treatment.

Jeke was granted US$100 bail and the matter was remanded to a later date for routine proceedings.
