Well-known socialite Patricia Jeke has been fined US$150 after she pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct at Highlands Police Station in Harare.
Jeke appeared before Harare magistrate Tapiwa Kuhudzai, where she admitted to the charges. In default of payment, she will serve 30 days in prison.
The court heard that on March 29, 2026, at around 10 pm, Jeke went to Highlands Police Station following the arrest of her friend.

Prosecutors told the court that upon arrival, Jeke allegedly became unruly and began shouting at police officers while using vulgar language. She reportedly accused officers of corruption and claimed she had connections with senior government officials who would ensure the officers were dismissed.
The court further heard that her conduct disrupted operations at the station and “tarnished the image of the police station” during active police proceedings.
In mitigation, Jeke told the court she was a divorcee and single mother of an 11-year-old child, pleading for leniency and promising not to repeat the offence.
Passing sentence, Magistrate Kuhudzai condemned the behaviour, stressing that abusive conduct toward law enforcement officers would not be tolerated. However, the court took into account that Jeke was a first-time offender and considered her personal circumstances before imposing a fine instead of a custodial sentence.
