Veteran goalkeeper Gift “Umbro” Muzadzi has joined soccer academy Real Betis as a goalkeepers’ coach.
The announcement was made by Betis director Gerald Sibanda who said in a statement:
“It's Official Gift 'Umbro' Muzadzi is green and white.
"One of Zimbabwe's finest Goalkeepers and coaches Gift Muzadzi has joined our technical team in our aim to produce world class talent from our Campus through the Real Betis methodology of football.
“We are delighted to have his experience in both his playing and coaching career. Gift will lead our Goalkeepers Department in our senior age groups."
Other coaches under the academy are Naison Muchekela, Zetie Sibanda and Tachiona Diya.
Muzadzi left Dynamos following sour relations with senior staff at the team. At one time he was hit with a sanction along with goalkeeper Simba Chinyani for alleged insubordination and sabotage.
The suspension came after he was accused of visiting board chairperson Bernard Marriot’s residence where he wanted to engage the chairman over his future at the club.
