The two matches are part of the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. Zimbabwe are in Group E alongside Equatorial Guinea, Sierra Leone and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
The Warriors head into the November fixtures following a dramatic 3–2 victory over Sierra Leone on 24 September. Zimbabwe came from two goals down to win the match, with Marshall Munetsi scoring twice and Tawanda Chirewa adding another goal.
However, Zimbabwe subsequently suffered a 2–1 defeat to the DRC at the National Sports Stadium on 28 September. Munetsi scored Zimbabwe’s only goal late in the match, but it was not enough to prevent defeat.
